Working with communities most impacted by climate change to boost involvement in adaptation and resilience efforts.
We partner with residents, activists and other stakeholders to promote climate readiness through public events, open houses, community surveys and workshops with climate resilience practitioners and decision-makers of New York City.
Resilient New York is working to involve all vulnerable neighborhoods and communities in the efforts now underway to keep them safe from the worst impacts of the climate emergency. Your contribution today helps us make a difference.
Samuel T. Frank, PhD, is the Founding Director of Resilient New York. He is an expert in U.S. domestic climate change mitigation and adaptation policy, namely the Clean Power Plan, renewable energy markets and New York City waterways planning. He worked as an early Research Associate at Climate Nexus, a non-profit climate and clean energy communications firm, and as a Curriculum Specialist at Billion Oyster Project, a joint restoration/education organization dedicated to bringing healthy marine ecosystems back to New York Harbor.
Do you live in a neighborhood that is at risk of flooding, storm surge, heat waves or local power outages? Are you aware of or concerned about public efforts, or the lack thereof, to protect your community from these threats? We are here to educate and empower communities across the Five Boroughs to have a greater stake in these projects. Please contact us to get involved and join our mission!
